N'KAYA LODGE - THORNYBUSH GAME RESERVE
Adjacent to the greater Kruger National Park lies a vast African wilderness, home to Africa's big game including the Big Five and many other species of mammals and birds. It is here, in the heart of the Thornybush Game Reserve, that you will find n'Kaya Lodge.

n'Kaya pan, the camp's own waterhole within sight of the lounge and bar, attracts many species of game, as well as prolific bird life. After evening safaris, guests gather round the huge open-hearth fireplace and share exciting safari experiences over coffee and liquers.

Tastefully decorated in warm earthy tones and indigenous woods, n'Kaya combines luxury with natural simplicity. The 4 spacious double suites each with private lounges and twin ensuite facilities ensures optimal space for the discerning guest.

Each suite consists of a double bedroom with two en-suite bathrooms and a lounge. The lounge may be converted into an additional bedroom with en-suite bathroom by the use of an interleading door. This makes it ideal for single accommodation if required.

n'Kaya accommodations include:
• Pool
• Boma
• Air-conditioned suites
• En-suite bath and shower
• Conference facility

n'Kaya is particularly lovely on cold winter nights when guests gather round the huge open-hearth fireplace in the middle of the lounge and trade stories of game sightings over brandy and hanepoort.

Not only can you expect top-quality cuisine and exceptional service from your ranger, hostess and the staff of this charming lodge, but n'Kaya has been the recipient of the Diners Club Merit Award for their exceptional wine list for two consecutive years (2001 & 2002).

A fully equipped conference room, ideal for small breakaway conferences or think-tanks is also available.

Activities
Game drives are undertaken in open safari vehicles every morning and evening with the camp's highly trained rangers and trackers. Walking safaris can also be arranged. At the end of the day, a hearty bushveld dinner is taken at the open boma next to the pool where one can relax by the crackling campfire, listening to the night sounds of Africa as the animals come to drink at the floodlit waterhole.

The staff take great pleasure in sharing with you their passion for hospitality and the excitement of dawn and dusk safaris in open Land Rovers, ensuring close and unrestricted encounters with the Thornybush wildlife. Enjoy the gentle nurturing of an Elephant calf by its mother or a close encounter with a Lioness and her cubs. The more adventurous are encouraged to join the experienced game ranger on a walk as he interprets Africa's footprint.

Brunch at n'Kaya is served on a polished wooden table on the north-facing verandah flooded with mid-morning sunshine. It gets the day off to a glorious start, and you may find yourself lingering over a second or third cup of coffee while watching wildlife drinking at the nearby waterhole.

Wildlife
Adjacent to the Greater Kruger National Park lies a vast African wilderness. This is the Thornybush Game Reserve. The reserve, with its rolling savannahs and riverine tributaries, is home to Africa's big game, including "the Big 5" and an abundance of bird and other mammal species. Thornybush offers prime game-viewing territory, including opportunities to get up close to the big cats, Elephants, Wild Dogs, Hyena and more than 250 bird species.
