Sanctuary at The Grace
In December 2000 The Grace in Rosebank opened its own beauty salon, "Sanctuary at The Grace", which offers a variety of customized skin and body treatments for both men and women, including facials, relaxing or energizing massages (Aromatherapy and Dermalogica), hand and feet treatments and body waxing. The salon is open seven days a week, from 10h00 to 20h00.

The salon's therapeutic treatments are designed to pamper and restore you, leaving you feeling relaxed and stress free, equipped to cope with the pressures of the city.

Dining and Cuisine
Chef of "The Dining Room", Raymond Rundle, has been with The Grace since July 2000, and is currently a member of the Chef's Association of South Africa. Rundle approaches cooking with a combination of creativity, insistence on the finest, natural ingredients and a flair for authentic food with an African flavour.

According to Rundle, The Dining Room's menu is "SIMPLE, ELEGANT AND CONTEMPORARY." His cuisine is unpretentious yet creative, designed to please and delight the guest rather than impress. Reflecting Rundle's game lodge background, menu choices at The Grace's restaurant include African-inspired favourites like Oak-Smoked Springbok (served on hot multigrain with a white balsamic vinegar and cranberry sauce); main courses like Ostrich Neck and desserts like Amarula ice cream and Key Lime Souffle made from Swazi limes.

Offering an elegant yet convivial atmosphere and consistently good food, The Dining Room is a favourite haunt of many well known businessmen and celebrities alike. In the five years of its existence, THE DINING ROOM has earned a reputation for its creative menus, elegant yet unpretentious ambience, consistently good cuisine and attentive service. The series of sumptuous gourmet food and wine evenings held monthly at The Grace have become an ever popular feature of its restaurant.

The Grace's Vinoteque is an intimate private dining venue which can seat up to 20 guests for discreet functions or special celebrations. THE DINING ROOM itself can cater for private functions of up to 75 guests.

During South Africa's balmy summers, The Grace's tranquil roofgarden and pool terrace is an idyllic setting for alfresco breakfasts, lunches or evening drinks.

Breakfasts
The Dining Room has always served an unbeatable breakfast, marked by variety, abundance and value for money. Now you can sample their new English Breakfast Menu which includes mouthwatering additions such as Grace Benedict ( Poached eggs with smoked springbok and avocado hollandaise on a toasted brioche) and Buttermilk waffles served with fried eggs, bacon and hot maple syrup.

The Grace's Continental buffet offers a feast of fresh fruit, cereals, juices, cold meats and smoked fish as well as a variety of freshly baked breads and pastries.

Location
Rosebank is an exclusive suburb of Johannesburg, 40 minutes drive from the Johannesburg International Airport, and one mile (five minutes drive) from the CBD of Sandton.

Entertainment and Activities:
The Mall of Rosebank, immediately adjacent to The Grace
The Mall's Rooftop Market, arguably SA's best, offers a huge range of beautifully crafted merchandise (open Sundays and public holidays)
Hotel is within one block of one of Jo'burg's most exclusive shopping precincts, including specialist malls and boutiques
An eclectic mix of over 200 popular restaurants within easy walking distance of The Grace
Old Mutual Entertainment and shopping centre with 12 cinemas, Woolworths, music and bookstores, children's entertainment centre, fashion stores and restaurants
Permanent African curio market with quality controlled traders in Cradock Avenue promenade (one block from The Grace.)
Several excellent art galleries and exclusive Art Nouveau cinemaa complex.

Character
Quote from London's "Daily Telegraph", Hotel Watch, March 1999:
"Rosebank, quite the best of Jo'burg's Northern suburbs, I mean the old green ones, not the brash new ones. Wooded, walkable, rich in restaurants, clubs and cinemas, Rosebank has that characteristic Jo'burg blend of the chic and the seedy; curio sellers, sushi bars, buskers and beggars."

General comparison with Sandton: Sandton is large, business-centred, concrete intensive; Rosebank is residential in nature, cosmopolitan and culture-rich, with tree-lined streets and walkable shopping, eating and entertainment.

Security
Recent comparative crime statistics (2000) show Rosebank as the MOST SECURE NEIGHBOURHOOD OF ALL 21 POLICING ZONES IN JOHANNESBURG. Private security and cleaning initiatives have reduced crime and petty misdemeanors to almost nil. Patrol officers on duty 24 hours a day. Security escorts for pedestrians on request.

Awards

Diners Club Wine-list Award (Merit Award) 99, 2000, 2001.
Menu of the year 2001 - Best Upmarket /Fine Dining Menu in SA
