SINGITA
LEBOMBO LODGE & SWENI LODGE -
LEBOMBO PRIVATE RESERVE
Safari
travelers meander down this single dusty road into
this the South African Safari experience of a life
time. Many are overwhelmed by the scale, and the silence
of this South African Safari landscape. Rangers who
have walked on foot through the area, while on South
African safari, say it has the largest concentration
of game they¹ve seen in Kruger. These South
African safari lodges rest lightly among the ancient
boulders of the Lebombo mountains, overlooking the
African plain where two rivers meet. Singita Lebombo
has been described as the Jewel of the Kruger Park
and a must while on South African Safari.
Safari in South Africa
Singita Lebombo offers discerning
South African Safari guests an unrivalled wilderness
experience on an exclusive 15,000-hectare concession
on the remote eastern boundary of the Kruger National
Park. The new lodge derives its name from the Lebombo
mountain range and encompasses an area significantly
different to that of the Singita Game Reserve in
the Sabi Sand Reserve. It is the only game lodge
accessible by air within Kruger and the spectacular
scenery, varied landscape and large herds of game
create a premier, diverse safari circuit connecting
Singita Lebombo with the two existing Singita Ebony
and Boulders lodges.
At Singita Lebombo, you will experience Africa
- majestic, unfiltered and unadorned. You will
look
out from your timber and glass guest unit at
the continent's vast canvas. Under a slatted roof,
you will experience all the shades of Africa's
shifting
light. All-season indoor and outdoor areas offer
spacious, elegant and luxurious refinement. Dine
indoors or out whilst watching game traverse
the vast open grassland.
Singita's private
concession within the Kruger Park remains exclusive
to Singita Lebombo guests.
Singita, which
means “The Miracle” in the local Shangaan
language, has four distinctive properties, all of
which are members of Relais & Chateaux. The Cape
Town based Singita group is regarded internationally
as a forerunner in the luxury ecotourism market,
constantly setting new standards for the ultimate
African bush and wildlife experience. Singita
is well known for its world class hospitality, stunning
décor and excellent game viewing. It
is regarded by many to be the most luxurious lodge
collection in Africa.
Lebombo
Lodge
The lofts at Lebombo sit perched like eagles' nests among the cactus-like Euphorbia
on the basalt cliff tops. With sweeping views of the ancient Lebombo mountain
range, the Sweni and N'wanetsi rivers entwine like glittering veins of gold far
below. Singita Lebombo is the culmination of the search for an idyllic
location.
With ceiling to floor windows, the fifteen luxury suites blend beautifully with
the landscape, each an expression of the surroundings. Living space is
expansive and exclusively furnished, indoors and outdoors fuse seamlessly in
complete privacy. Singita Lebombo is more than simply safari, it's a feeling
that remains a part of you. The fully air-conditioned suites have sweeping
360º views of the Lebombo mountains and surrounding bushveld.
The full-suite rooms are constructed primarily with glass and wood. They feature
exceptional views and offer the premier facilities and amenities associated with
the Singita's other properties. These include numerous ‘experiences within
the experience’, including various dining and living areas, wine cellars,
a fully equipped gymnasium and a state-of-the-art health spa with pool overlooking
the confluence of the rivers.
Sweni
Lodge
The new satellite Sweni Lodge is set nearby amongst some of Africa's starkest
beauty. Bathed in quiet intimacy at the shaded edge of the Sweni river,
the six suites enjoy an opulently appointed lounge, a dining area and pool, with
a classic safari feel through the use of African aftefacts, leather and khaki.
Sweni Lodge continues in the Singita tradition of creating a lifelong experience
out of a journey to Africa. From the food and fine wines to game drives
and the simple silence the wilderness imparts, the voyage promises to eternally

and game trackers.
Highly trained and experienced rangers
and trackers will introduce you to an Africa few
have been privileged to see, while the lodge staff,
headed up by internationally trained management and
a highly sought-after executive chef will ensure
that your stay is not simply pleasant but truly memorable.
Wildlife
The Lebombo Concession is
exclusive to guests at Singita and lies within
the boundaries of the world-renowned
Kruger National Park. The
Lebombo mountain range which runs through the eastern
section has a particular impact on the habitat,
which is significantly distinct from the habitat
at Singita's other properties in the Sabi Sand
Reserve to the west. The land comprises foothills
of the Lebombo range, and overlooks
the
Nwanetsi
River
at its confluence with the Sweni River and the
savannah plains beyond. The area boasts the highest
concentration of wildlife in the entire Kruger
National Park.
The Kruger Park is home to many
prey species, and sightings of lion, leopard
and even the elusive African Painted Dog are
common. Time spent at Singita is time spent
at the very
heart of the African wilderness, in a place
that grew out of the bushveld. With
no restricting fences between Sabi Sand and
Kruger National Park, magical wildlife encounters
in the open veld and the romantic ambience
of the truly superb lodges of the Sabi Sand conspire
to steal you away to a timelessness that will
stay
with
you
forever.
