SPENT AN afternoon with a large pride of lions,
including these two territorial males, as they
fed on a buffalo in Botswana's Linyanti region.
The lions had eaten to the point of exhaustion
and we watched as the two big males began sauntering
away. Knowing that they were heading to drink
from a nearby pan, we went ahead and were waiting
when they arrived. Luckily, the thirsty cats
chose a position in some of the last evening
light, making this image possible. |
