SERONDELLA
LODGE -
THORNYBUSH GAME RESERVE
Serondella Lodge is constructed on the banks of
a tributary to the Monwana watercourse in
a pristine setting. Suspended wooden walkways
link treetop hides to luxuriously appointed
suites set along the meandering
Monwana tributary. The lodge is flanked by two
waterholes; here guests can enjoy an abundance
of big game and birdlife from spectacular viewing
decks.
The Inyoni Pan, where various birds fish, Kingfishers
dive and big game come to drink daily is situated
in front
of
Serondella
Lodge. The pan is floodlit at night, providing
excellent opportunities for
photography from the Lodge’s wide
wooden deck.
It is the exclusive pleasure of your hosts at Serondella,
"The Place of the Elephant", to take you on a journey
for the soul as you experience close and unrestricted
encounters with all that is Africa from an open
landrover. For the more adventurous guest, join
your hosts on a bush walk. This is all surpassed
only by the supreme intimacy, superb cuisine and
absolute attention that Serondella offers by restricting
the lodge to a maximum of eight guests.

The
camp can accommodate up to eight guests in three
suites and one family suite with 3 rooms all
with air-conditioning under deep African-style
thatch. Serondella
is luxuriously appointed with all suites lining
the banks of a dry riverbed.
Serondella

• Elevated viewing hides.

Activities
Game drives
are undertaken in open safari vehicles every morning
and evening with the camp's highly trained rangers
and trackers. Walking safaris can also be arranged.
At the end of the day, a hearty bushveld dinner is
taken at the open boma next to the pool where one can
relax by the crackling campfire, listening to the night
sounds of Africa as the animals come to drink at the
floodlit waterhole.
Serondella Lodge offers you morning and evening safaris
in open 4x4 Land Rovers, bush walks, birdwatching,
day excursions, African tribal dancing, bush braais
(barbecues) and an outdoor boma with river view. There
is also a second superb viewing platform/hide overlooking
the Ndlovu Pan where Rhino, Elephant, Giraffe
and other animals including Leopard sightings are almost
daily occurrences.
Wildlife
Adjacent to the Greater Kruger
National Park lies a vast African wilderness. This
is the Thornybush Game Reserve. The reserve, with
its rolling savannahs and riverine tributaries, is
home to Africa's big game, including "the Big
5" and an abundance of bird and other mammal
species. Thornybush offers prime game-viewing
territory, including opportunities to get up close
to the big cats, Elephants, Wild Dogs, Hyena and
more than 250 bird species.
