THE PEECH HOTEL RATES: The Peech Hotel Rates

The Peech was originally a private residence, built for a member of the Dambusters who settled in South Africa in the 1950's. When discovered by James Peech, the property had been in one family's hands for over 40 years.

James purchased the property in 2003, and spent the next two years getting the zoning and the financing to open an initial 6 rooms. The hotel officially opened on 27th November 2004 followed a few months later by the bistro. The hotel grew with a further 4 rooms in 2006 and 6 rooms in 2008. The hotel now has 16 rooms and is proud to retain many staff members who started in 2004.

Boutique Hotel Rooms
The Peech has sixteen bedrooms and suites located in the main house and garden annexes.

The Garden Rooms overlook our lush landscaped gardens. Each annex has four rooms, which have been designed with separate work and relaxation areas and a private patio or balcony.

House Rooms are originally bedrooms in the old residence of the property these rooms have recently been renovated and are our 'chicest' offerings. Room two has a separate room, which is ideal for extra children or as a workspace.

Garden Suites are our largest rooms at over 60m2. They feature over-size bathrooms and an open-plan bedroom & living space. Designed to allow simultaneous sharing of work and relaxation spaces, the rooms have a hanging pod chair with views over their private patio or garden.

We have a number of options which offer an ideal venue for hosting a conference, event or private dinner in Johannesburg.

Our boardroom can seat up to 20 delegates and has a projector, screen, AV equipment & DVD. It can also be converted into a private dining room for lunches or dinners. [25m2]

Our library is ideal for small, discreet meetings seating up to four [7m2].

Wine Cellar
Our wine cellar offers an intimate space for small private dinners.

Bussiness Stay
We have complimentary high speed WiFi, a work space in all the bedrooms and intimate meeting spaces for small meetings. Guests can also get access to the adjacent Planet Fitness gym (for a small entrance fee). We have a fully-equipped boardroom which accommodates up to 20 delegates, has a projector and AV equipment and if not pre-booked, is complimentary to our in-house guests.

Our central location to the business districts of Rosebank, Sandton, Illovo & Melrose Arch ensures travel time is minimal.

We have a back-up generator, back-up water supply and back-up 3G Internet, which means we can cope with any utility disruption.

Dining and Cuisine
Boutique Hotel Bistro
Our bistro is run by head chef Greg Jardim, and Robert Chifunyise our wine buyer. Overlooking the hotel's pool & landscaped gardens, the bistro features sandstone floors, deep leather couches and a walk-in wine cellar.

Greg regularly changes his menu whose focus is on flavour and simplicity: "I've tried to create a menu that reflects what The Peech is all about: simple, laid-back and chic with an understated touch of sophistication". Greg's aim is to use locally-sourced suppliers and ingredients that are as organic as possible. He is working on a kitchen garden outside Room 15 which will supply herbs and vegetables to his kitchen.

The hotel has a sustainability policy that is centered on recycling, energy conservation and green design. We have implemented a range of measures, some hi-impact like installing solar geysers throughout the hotel, others low-impact such as using rechargeable batteries, that ensure our footprint is kept to a minimum. Recycling is a priority and with a Bokashi wet waste facility and recycling bins for paper, glass & tin little waste leaves the hotel for landfills.

We are currently on the Green Leaf Environmental Standard program that should see us certified in March 2012. We have also undertaken a study on our carbon footprint with Greener Future that will enable us to explore carbon neutrality.
