Hotel Mont Rochelle is situated in the midst of a working wine farm, overlooking the lovely Franschhoek valley.
Each of its 16 bedrooms and 6 suites is individually decorated, creating a unique ambiance. En suite bathrooms, telephones, televisions, safes, under-floor heating, air-conditioning and in-room refreshment facilities are amongst the facilities of each room.
The Hotel spans over three wings, giving you the privacy you would expect from a Boutique Hotel. Guests arrive in the Garden Wing of the Hotel which houses the Reception, Colonial Cigar Bar, eight Luxury Bedrooms, one Junior Suite and Business Centre.
In the Manor House are the Fine Dining Restaurant as well as two Junior Suites, one Deluxe Suite and two Luxury Bedrooms. Down the stairs from the Restaurant one is surprised to find a third wing, the Vineyard Wing, where each of the Luxury bedrooms has its own private garden, as well as two Deluxe Suites with private plunge pools.
A second restaurant serving Al Fresco meals, Wellness Facility, Sauna, Swimming Pool, Pool Bar and Gymnasium can also be found on the premises.

The hotel offers 16 bedrooms and 6 suites. All of the rooms are individually decorated in order to give a personal home away from home feeling. Personal touches throughout accentuate the care and attention that goes into the preparation of the rooms on a daily basis. Whether you like a more contemporary, classic or colonial style, you are certain to find a room which appeals to your personal taste.

Cap Classique Suites
Deluxe king sized suites with separate lounge and dining areas. These rooms are the ultimate hotel suites, classically decorated in light fresh cream shades. Ideal for long stays, where guests wish to enjoy home away from home comforts. The bedrooms have a separate dressing room and bathroom as well as a guest toilet.
The private terrace offers guests a plunge pool as well as a dining and lounger area. These suites boast the most magnificent views.

Reserve Suite
A luxury suite with a separate living area. The bedroom has a separate dressing room and bathroom en-suite.
The private walled Zen garden offers guests an outdoor Jacuzzi as well as a dining and lounger area. Décor is modern and contemporary with a touch of Africa. Sleek bathroom finishes, leather couches, and interesting spots throughout the room, make this a must see.

Pinotage Suites
A luxury suite with a separate living area. The bedroom has a separate dressing room and bathroom en-suite.
Plush furniture and finishes give a luxury feeling. Each of these suites is different, some have high volume open thatch, and another one has an open fireplace. Each of these rooms has views over the Valley from the Bedroom area.

One of the Pinotage Suites (No. 14) is able to accommodate children on the sleeper couch in the lounge area.
Cabernet Rooms
Large king or twin rooms with private terraces have spectacular views of the vineyards and surrounding mountains. These individual terraces offer guests the possibility to relax on loungers in privacy. With views like these you are bound to want to enjoy room service breakfast on your terrace every morning.
The rooms are spacious and decorated in bright African green, orange and brown tones.

Merlot Bedrooms
These spacious rooms have the ability to be configured as either king or twin rooms. They have prime views of the Franschhoek Valley and the surrounding vineyards. The bathrooms offer guests a separate bath and shower, under floor heating and a heated towel warmer.
The bedrooms are all individually decorated; with décor ranging from classic to Colonial African in style.

Shiraz Bedrooms
These rooms have the ability to be configured as either king or twin rooms. They have lovely views of the Franschhoek Valley and the surrounding vineyards. The bathrooms offer guests a separate bath and shower, under floor heating and a heated towel warmer.

Mont Rochelle offers in-house guests the opportunity to pre-book a private wine tasting or private Cellar Tour with the Wine Maker or an excursion through the vineyard with the Farm Manager.
You may wish to follow one of the trails through the vines for an invigorating country walk or a gentle stroll. Mountain bikes are available at the Hotel reception. Alternately, if you are looking for peace and tranquillity, take a stroll down to the dam, make yourself comfortable under the willow trees, and enjoy a good book or a Winelands Picnic.
Mont Rochelle Equestrian Centre offers guests the opportunity to enjoy a three hour Wine Tasting on horse back tour. If that’s more than you bargained for, hourly rides can also be arranged.
The focus at Mont Rochelle Hotel is about offering guests the ultimate Gourmet Winelands experience. Gourmet Wine Tasting is a unique experience where four of the Mont Rochelle Wines are matched with delicious delights from our kitchen.
The Gymnasium makes exercise a pleasure – the views help you forget that you’re exercising while you work off all of the delicious meals. Relax and unwind in the Wellness Centre where you can pamper yourself, enjoy a massage, listen to relaxation music and take in the beauty that surrounds you.
Wellness Facility
The Wellness Facility offers guests the opportunity to unwind and relax. After your massage, lie back and enjoy the sounds of calming music while you absorb the beauty that surrounds you. If you prefer you may wish to climb into a Jacuzzi and let the bubbles do the work, as they sooth your muscles. There is also a Sauna available for your use.
Gym
The Gymnasium makes exercise a pleasure - the views help you forget that you're exercising while you work off all of the delicious meals. A variety of cardiovascular and weight equipment allows you to tailor make your exercise routine to suite your needs. Should you wish to make use of a personal trainer, please advise us well in advance as booking is essential.
Pool
The views from the pool are glorious! There is no better way to spend the day than exploring Franschhoek from the side of the mountain, trying to identify your favourite spots, while basking in the sun and sipping a cocktail. In case you're worried it may get too hot, you'll be happy to know that the friendly pool staff will pass regularly to offer you a chilled face towel with which to freshen up.

Having owned a number of Michelin Restaurants, Mont Rochelle's owner Erwin Schnitzler has a passion for food and wine, and has created several very different venues where guests may enjoy a meal to suite their mood.
Mange Tout Restaurant
Mange Tout is a fine dining restaurant at the hotel, with spectacular views from the Restaurant and Terrace. Décor is elegant and light and enhances the views of the valley around you. Enjoy a delicious Modern European meal in an elegant surrounding.
Mont Rochelle Restaurant
Al fresco dining is available at Mont Rochelle Restaurant, located in the Wine Tasting Facility. This relaxed up-market venue caters for all tastes, with Mediterranean Style food. Delicious treats will be available for purchase; from Marmalade to Muesli. Gourmet Winelands Picnic baskets can be pre-ordered and collected from here to be enjoyed at one of our designated picnic areas under the Willows or between the Vines.
The Colonial Cigar Bar
The Colonial Cigar Bar serves light snacks, sandwiches and salads throughout the day. This menu is available to Hotel residents at the Swimming Pool.
Winery
The Farm is situated against the Klein Dassenberg Mountains. It boasts a quaint Boutique cellar, which has a unique character due to its layout and design. Previously a fruit packing shed, the cellar has many historic elements and a unique feel to it. The gorgeous Cape Dutch Manor House surrounded by stunning garden and horse filled paddocks, and the tasting room, offer a homely feeling, with personalised service and true South African hospitality.
The objective is to create wines which are fit for any occasion. A range of easy drinking wines is available – quaffing wines to be enjoyed on a hot summer afternoon or with a bowl of pasta after a day in the office. The signature wines are there to indulge you and are perfect for a special celebration or to enjoy with a gathering of friends.
The Vineyards have been planted with noble cultivars and reflect the full range of the terroir of the valley. Presently 16 of the 33 ha farm is under vine and boast Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The original Cape Dutch buildings on the farm will be preserved as we feel that there are enough modern cellars. We wish to place our attention on preserving the old wine making techniques which include beginning the wine making process in the vineyards and the extensive presence of the winemaker in the cellar, working hands on in order to produce a quality product.

Fly Fishing
Enjoy an afternoon of fly fishing at nearby farms. Bookings are advised.
Golf
South Africa is known for the high standard of its many golf courses, so why not visit one of the local golf clubs in Paarl, Stellenbosch or Somerset West. The hotel can arrange tee-off times; booking is vital during season in order to avoid disappointment.
Hiking
Enjoy a hike through the hills, vales and vineyards surrounding the hotel.
Horse Riding
Horseback-riding tours can be arranged. Riding stables are located on the neighbouring farms, and rides are available on an hourly basis.
Miscellaneous
Hang-gliding, hiking, mountain biking, visits to the Huguenot monument, museums and local nature can all be enjoyed in the area surrounding Franschhoek..

The village offers a variety of art and craft shops as well as galleries and antique stores.
