DULINI SAFARI LODGE - SABI SAND GAME RESERVE
Adjacent to the world-renowned Kruger National Park, the Sabi Sand Game Reserve is famed for its intimate wildlife encounters, particularly leopard viewing. Home to a host of wildlife, including the Big Five, the Sabi Sand is part of a conservation area that covers over two million hectares (almost five million acres), an area equivalent to the state of New Jersey and larger than some independent countries.

With no boundary fences between the reserve and the Kruger National Park, this area benefits from the great diversity of wildlife found in one of the richest wilderness areas on the African continent along with the additional benefits experienced on a private game reserve.

Game drives traverse an area of 10 000 hectares (24 700 acres) and strict vehicle limits at sighting ensure the exclusivity of your game viewing experience. Off-road driving ensures that you have the best possible view of any exceptional sighting and rangers are constantly in touch with each other to keep track of animal movements.

With its thatched roofs, sandy hues and casual elegance, Dulini Lodge offers a slice of African life dished up with classic panache.

Set on the banks of the seasonal Mabrak River, this tranquil retreat offers tantalising glimpses of the calm rhythms of the bush, with leafy views opening up to surprise scenes of the nearby riverbed and the animal life centred round it.

Luscious lunches set out in the Lodge’s picturesque grounds tempt and delight, while rustles and scurries in the undergrowth and quietly grazing shapes in the distance serve as a constant reminder of the wilderness all around.

The deeply atmospheric Dulini Lodge highlights the grandeur of the African bush with its quiet style and elegance. The surrounding grove of ebony trees is reflected in the dark wooden accents of the interiors. Six stone cottages nestle among the trees, with private decks and decadent plunge pools facing out toward the river bed, with its green banks and quirky suspension bridge. Huge glass windows let you gaze out onto the shady banks directly from the comfort of your bed, sheltered by gracefully draped mosquito nets.

Dining & Cuisine
When mealtimes arrive, indulge yourself on the dining deck in the shade of the ancient jackalberry tree. While legend tells the juicy berries of these massive trees are so delicious that even jackals trade their carnivorous ways for a taste, we guarantee our mouth watering meals will never leave you longing for anything else. But you might well prefer to savour one of them by gentle candlelight in our well-stocked wine cellar.

Activities
Twice daily game drives - early morning and late afternoon/evening game drives in an open 4x4 safari vehicle traverse an area of 10 000 hectares (25 000 acres). Track the Big Five, as well as a rich variety of other game, in the company of an armed ranger and Shangaan tracker. Strict vehicle limits at animal sightings ensure the exclusivity of your wildlife experience and careful off-road driving positions you for the best photo opportunities. Rangers are constantly in touch with each other to help keep track of game and the sensitive approach methods used mean that the wildlife has become accustomed to the presence of vehicles.

Interpretive bush walks - in between game drives, take a leisurely walk within easy reach of your lodge and experience the sights, smells and sounds of the African bush. An armed ranger will accompany you and will share his vast knowledge of the local fauna and flora. Take in the intimate details of your surroundings, from the intricate patterns of a spider's web to the bright plumage of the local birds and the sharp alarms calls of a dozen small creatures.
