WEST COAST SAN CULTURAL EXPERIENCE (Private Full-Day Tour)
Depart the city and drive to Bloubergstrand to enjoy the classic views of the city and Table Mountain from across Table Bay.

On to the West Coast Fossil Park, for a morning of exploration at one of the richest fossil sites in the world. Five million years ago this dry coastline's vegetation was lush riverine forest and wooded savannah, home to a huge variety of now-extinct animals. Over the past 40 years, the bones of some two hundred different kinds of animals, including giant cave bears and four-tusked Anancus elephants (and others still that are new to science) have been uncovered here.

We continue on to !Khwa ttu San Culture and Education Centre. After lunch, learn about the fascinating culture, heritage, and modern-day life of the San (“Bushmen”) people.

We accompany a group of qualified San guides through the area, as they demonstrate their acclaimed skills, like animal tracking and the identification of edible and medicinal plants. They also share their ancient oral history, teach us words in their languages and enlighten us about recent achievements to re-claim their rights to land and intellectual property.

A rare chance to absorb first hand accounts of these unique people (whose genetic ancestors may be some of the world's earliest human inhabitants) before returning to the city in the late afternoon.
