Begin this Cape cooking experience with a visit to one of Cape Town’s
well-known spice traders. The Malay peoples, exiled to the Cape from Dutch
colonies in the East in the 17th & 18th centuries, have contributed richly
to the Cape table. Today, Cape cuisine is a fascinating fusion of East
and West that combine exotic flavors, unique African produce and meats,
such as ostrich and game, with the culinary inspiration of old Europe and the
New World.
Continue down the Peninsula in search of the rest of our ingredients, stopping
at a picturesque fishing harbour along the coastline for fresh landed fish sold
at a local quayside market.
Begin the preparation of our Cape Seafood Lunch at an exclusive location overlooking
the ocean. The meal (dependent on the fresh catch) will be accompanied by local
wines, coffee and cheese.
After lunch, return to the city via the scenic coastline.
