MVUU WILDERNESS
LODGE, Liwonde National Park, Malawi Jump

Wilderness Lodge

We
transfer back to Mfuwe for the charter flight to Malawi, and
then fly onto Liwonde National park, one of the most scenic and
diverse game parks around. The park straddles the Shire River,
the main drainage outlet for Lake Malawi. The attractive riverine
forest, dominated by palm, is home to some of the best wildlife
in the region - huge Crocodiles, countless pods of Hippo, Sable,
Elephants and some of the best birding on the continent await
visitors to this park.
Accommodation for the next two
nights is at Mvuu Lodge - a 10 bedded, comfortable tented camp
situated on the banks of the Shire River. Activities centre
on wonderful game viewing and birding by boat, in open 4x4
vehicles, night drives and walks. |
DAYS 6 - 7;
(2 Nights)
KAYA MAWA LODGE,
Likoma Island, Lake Malawi Jump
to Kaya
Mawa Lodge
|
After
a morning game activity, depart by light aircraft to Kiloma,
flying over Lake Malawi and the scenic waters of the Cape Maclear
Peninsula and the rugged uninhabited coastline and stunning forests
of Mozambique. A
boat is waiting to transfer you round the island to the Lodge.
Kaya Mawa Lodge is
comprised of ten stone and teak-framed, thatched cottages set into
a granite headland. There is a honeymoon house tucked away on its
own private island that is reached by boat or a wooden walkway.
Each cottage faces the lake and has a 7- by 6-foot mahogany, four-poster
bed, a shower, a sunken stone bathtub and a loo with a view. The
view from the shower in the honeymoon suite defies description. All
the cottages have private terraces with direct access to the water,
and some can only be reached by walkways built over the lake.
The stunning setting of the
lodge and the unique comfort of the rooms means that many guests
choose to make relaxation their main activity, but enough activities
are on offer to keep guests busy. Scuba (including Padi
diving courses), snorkeling, swimming, sailing and visits to
the local villages are part of the experience. |
DAY 8

Transfer
back to the airstrip by boat for flight back to Lilongwe. Met
on arrival and assisted with check-in for your onward flight. Please
note that on this safari the Malawi Lodges can be visited in any order
depending on guest preferences.
