The Hilltop House
THE HILLTOP HOUSE - WINDHOEK,
NAMIBIA
The Hilltop House, situated
in a cul-de-sac in a quiet residential area, affords guests superb
views over the Klein Windhoek Valley. Hilltop House is a Bavarian
style house, originally built in 1958 as an art studio, with
an Oregon pine deck extending round the upper floor and offering
views of Windhoek below. The House was converted to a guest
house in 1999.
This is a quaint guest
house offering old-world charm and friendly, personalized service
in a relaxed and peaceful setting. Hilltop House is also a great
place to stay for travelers and safari-goers spending a night or
two in Windhoek before or after their journey in Namibia.
Guests are welcomed by hosts and
owners Angela and Allen. Monalisa and the rest of the staff
will attend to your every need.

The spacious rooms are decorated
in a contemporary African Colonial style and boast all the modern amenities
which discerning travelers have come to expect. All rooms have en-suite
bathrooms with his and hers wash basins, hairdryers, mini-bar, air conditioning,
tea / coffee making facilities, satellite TV and telephones.
There are three double rooms with queen
size beds and two twin rooms with 2 3/4 beds.
There are an additional two smaller
rooms with double beds which are typically used as singles, but doubles
can use them as well if they don't mind a smaller room.
Hilltop House usually
accommodates 12 people, but will put in extra beds for children
sharing with their parents.
The sparkling
swimming pool with adjoining tanning deck has a commanding view over
the Klein Windhoek Valley extending to the mountains in the far distance
and is a perfect spot for sipping a sundowner or spending some relaxing
time after a safari writing postcards and enjoying the Namibian sunshine!
Secure parking
is available on the premises for self-drive guests.
Dining
Breakfasts are a delicious affair
served to you either in the comfort and privacy of your room or under
the shade of a large jacaranda tree on the pool terrace. Hilltop House
also offers a selection of tasty meals during the rest of the day and
evening for those who would like to eat in.
Breakfast is included
with all bookings.
Hilltop Houseis within
easy walking distance (15 minutes) of the city centre and many of
the most popular restaurants, including the
famous Joe's Beerhouse, which has become a Windhoek landmark, and
O'Portuga, a Portuguese restaurant.
Activities
The House is only a few minutes from
town where a shopping haven and local market await you. The owners
will gladly arrange city tours and day trips to some of the game farms
around Windhoek and can offer excellent advice on what to do and where
to go.
Hilltop House will also arrange transfers
to various destinations upon request.
