Sala's Camp
SALA'S CAMP -
MASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK, KENYA
Sala’s camp has the good fortune to be located on the convergence of two rivers, and in the heart of the Masai Mara. This secluded spot, offers tranquillity, and tremendous views over the Sand River towards Tanzania and the Serengeti. From your tents you will be able to enjoy an abundance of birdlife and wildlife and the indigenous environment. The camp prides itself on its hospitality, and from this wonderful location one can easily explore the vast Masai Mara Reserve.
During the Great Wildebeest Migration in the months of July to September, Sala’s Camp is extremely well located as many of the animals move back from the Serengeti in search of lush grasslands in the Mara. The game viewing during this time is exceptional, with dramatic river crossings, and plentiful predators.
Unwind on our comfy sofas with various engaging books on birds and wildlife. Enjoy a fun board game or just relax in our hammocks and watch the world go by. If you are feeling energetic, join in on one of our occasional friendly games of volleyball by the river, or try exercising on our trampoline.
With its wide grassland and outstanding wilderness, the Maasai Mara is home to a vast number of wildlife and hosts one of the most spectacular wildlife experiences - the great wildebeest migration.
The Maasai Mara hosts 1,300,000 wildebeest, 360,000 Thomson’s gazelle and 191,000 zebra. The Mara also has all the members of the ‘Big Five’ namely lions, buffalos, elephants, leopards and rhinoceros. For the bird enthusiast, there are over 450 species of birds.
